MASSA – «This year, May 1st has given us a pleasant and beautiful surprise. With a group of old friends we usually go to celebrate the most important dates in our history in restaurants where we eat well and have fun with the guitar and popular songs.” This is the story of the Massa and Montignoso section of Italia Nostra, after the celebrations for Labor Day.
«This time we found ourselves at the legendary “da Giuston” tavern, in the Candia hills. As everyone knows in Massa, the place is ultra-popular for the food and the price, but also and above all for the company. In fact, “at Giuston” you can find everything and more as happened to us. Among the many guests we noticed our fellow citizen Francesca Fialdini, young and already well known nationally as an all-round artist and presenter. She was the author of books and talk shows who sat together at a table with other diners like any of us. – says Bruno Giampaoli, president of the section – Naturally, after a few moments of amazement I felt obliged to go and greet her and bring her the greetings of all those present from Massa and beyond. I also allowed myself because I had the pleasure of meeting Francesca as a child when, for cultural reasons, I hung out with her mother, Mrs. Bertonelli, who was the culture councilor of Massa at the time.”
«To make a long story short I took the liberty of singing her an ancient Sicilian song, perhaps the most beautiful serenade “La Virinedda” and then afterwards with the friends of the group we started with the traditional songs including the inevitable Bella Ciao and Addio Lugano Bella . During our songs, Francesca did not fail to provide us with support and solidarity, enthusiastically participating in the most significant songs of the National Labor Day and this is why, also on behalf of the entire group and those present, I would like to thank her again for her simplicity and demonstrated participation”.
