Late yesterday afternoon, some motorists reported that a person was exploding from a large black car. gunshots inside the San Demetrio tunnel on the Catania – Siracusa motorway.

The understandable panic that had arisen immediately triggered the joint intervention of the men of the PS police station and the Lentini traffic police.
The shots fired in the tunnel
The investigators received the number of plate of the vehicle. Therefore, they set out on the trail of the black car from which the shots had been fired in the tunnel.
The officers traced the person responsible to a young man 22 years old, who had purchased a blank pistol some time ago. These, while he was in the car with a friend, not considering the gravity and the danger of his gesture, he exploded blank pistol shots out of pure jovial spirit.
Having gone to the young man’s house, the police found the toy weapon, without the expected red cap. They have, therefore, reported the young man who only then realized the severity of the act performed.
