JESI – Full room in the meeting space of the exhibition event of the Cardinaletti Foundation, “Jesi and the 20th century towards 2050, the butterflies will arrive”, for the appointment with Neri Marcorè. A large audience awaited the artist from the Marche, actor, presenter, imitator and today for the first time director with the film “Zamora” in cinemas, for a discussion which saw Marcoré answering the questions of the young volunteers of the Foundation in an introduced setting by the journalist Giovanni Filosa.
Intrigued, boys and girls of the Foundation, from the artist’s relationship with his Marche region. «The province – said Marcorè – can be a tomb or a spring that gives the push to discover the world. For me it was this. I grew up in Porto Sant’Elpidio, in a family environment, I studied at the Linguistic High School in Ancona, going in the morning and returning in the afternoon by train. I liked school, I did well without being a “nerd”, and I didn’t even study much. What I did I started for the passion of doing it. And it better be like this: do the things you like with passion, without setting yourself objectives or goals. If the latter do not arrive, there will be no disappointments but something that gives pleasure will still have been done.” And regarding the Marche region, «I find it in mine slowness, let’s think about how long it takes us to say a name compared to the quick talk of a Venetian! It’s a paradox: I do many things at the same time but all slowly, tackling one problem at a time when it arises, without getting caught up in anxiety.”
Naturally space for two strong ties with the region. The first, Risorgigmarche. «The idea was born after the first shock, when I was particularly struck by a woman’s “don’t forget us” in Arquata. After the second, the most destructive even if she didn’t cause a victim, I thought it needed more than a simple event or fundraiser. It was necessary to bring the Marche region to attention and bring as many visitors and tourists as possible to those places. I didn’t want to raise money, I didn’t want to have anything to do with money. After each event I always said that anyone who wanted could easily find the Ibans of the Municipalities to make donations to, directly. There were those who told us that in those events he had sold more ice creams than he had sold in the whole previous year, those who instead simply thanked us because we had brought him back among the people after the tragedy, avoiding the depression in which he was falling. This alone, even for just one person, would be more than gratifying. And this year we start again with the eighth edition.” And then there Gold thread alloy, of which Marcorè is testimonial: «A company to be proud of, which does extraordinary things.
