On Friday 3 May, starting at 8.45 am, in the Maurizio Ascoli Room of the Polyclinic, we will talk about hand hygiene, the most important factor in preventing the spread of microorganisms in healthcare environments and beyond.
The course, entitled “Hand hygiene which start point for the prevention of HAIs”, organized on the occasion of World Handwashing Day which is celebrated on Sunday 5 May, intends to create a moment of reflection and increase the level of awareness that correct hand hygiene procedures are only the first step in preventing healthcare-associated infections.
The ECM event involves a multidisciplinary team made up of hygienists, infectious disease specialists, microbiologists, medical examiners, biomedical laboratory healthcare technicians and nurses who will discuss various topics, including: the appropriateness of the use of antibiotics, the prevention of related infections to healthcare (HAI) and surgical site infections and the role of artificial intelligence in the fight against HAIs
The last session of the day will be dedicated to a discussion with the managers and members of each hospital infection committee of numerous public and private healthcare hospitals in the province of Palermo.
