CASALNUOVO – This morning the Carabinieri from the Casalnuovo department intervened at the Villa dei Fiori clinic in Acerra. A 60-year-old worker reportedly died at a construction site in Viale dei Tigli (Casalnuovo). Investigations underway to reconstruct the dynamics.
It is yet another workplace death in Campania in 2024, which risks worsening an already serious trend. From the INAIL Campania Region 2022 annual report, it emerged that in the year 2022, 33,409 accident reports were detected in Campania, corresponding to 4.75% of the national total, an increase compared to both 2020 (+49.25%), both to 2021 (+64.25%) and that the reports of occupational diseases registered in 2022 (2,589) increased, by 5.80% more than in 2020 and decreased by 1.30% less than in 2021.
It is also noted that from the inspection activity conducted by INAIL in the year 2022 regarding incentives for the safety, verification, certification and approval of machinery and equipment, it emerged that in the Campania Region there are as many as 739 companies of which 733, i.e. 99, 19%, were found to be irregular and that this figure is 5.60 percentage points above the national value (93.59%).
