The mayor of the city of Bari, Giovanni Mastrangelo, wrote this on social media after learning of the death of a 58-year-old from Gioia last night in a metalworking company located along provincial road 29 a few kilometers from the city center.
According to what we learn, the man was on duty in the company specializing in prefabricated steel structures, when he was apparently overwhelmed by the material loaded on the forklift he was driving. According to other versions, the worker was thrown from the forklift he was operating and suffered fatal injuries.
Despite the help of the 118 health workers, the man did not make it. To establish the exact dynamics of the accident, the Carabinieri and Spesal staff intervened on site. The body was transported to the forensic medicine institute of the Bari polyclinic, awaiting an autopsy.
