An artist from Ascoli protagonist on the national small screen. This is the 49-year-old Luigi Coccia, known in the national news for being the lookalike of Alessandro Borghese and in those towns for having been successful in various editions of the “Festival of the Canzone Ascolana”, of which he was recently winner with the song “Te vogghie fa nnammerà”.

In reality, Luigi Coccia works as a nurse in life but it is through singing and writing songs that he has found the most personal way to express himself for years. And it was once again in this way that on the evening of Monday 29 April he put himself to the test, taking part in “Don’t forget the lyrics”, hosted by Gabriele Corsi on Nove.

During the program, which sees three competitors taking part in each episode, called to sing Italian songs at karaoke and to guess the missing words in three different rounds, Luigi Coccia reached the final without however managing to grab the prize money. On this occasion, the artist from Ascoli performed “Nel Sole”, “Me so’mbriacato” and “To forget” accompanied by his friend Sandro Ferretti. A result which, although commendable, did not allow him to beat the reigning champion. Coccia is a former boy prodigy: he started playing the accordion at 8 years old and at 16 he started recording records: he made his debut alongside Maurizio di Romagna.
