Pianoro (Bologna), 30 April 2024 – Yet another accident deadly on Futa. It was he who lost his life this afternoon Vittorino Gamberi, 76 year old from Pianoro. The centaur was riding his Honda and was returning from a ride in the Apennines: something he used to do having a passion for two wheels.
The 76-year-old was returning home, in the Pianoro area, around 3.30 pm. At a certain point, however, on the Futa, in the hamlet Zula of PianoroVittorino lost control of the motorbike and crashed into the ‘drain’ at the side of the road.
The 76-year-old rolled with the motorbike for a few meters and was then thrown from the saddle. The centaur fell into the drainage ditch and remained unconscious on the ground.
To call i rescued there were some people who traveled along the stretch a few minutes after the accident and noticed the motorcycle on the ground. The 76-year-old’s body was not immediately noticed by passers-by because it was among the shrubs in the gully.
The paramedics arrived on site 118 with an ambulance from Pianoro and, shortly after, thehelicopter rescue. The man’s condition immediately appeared very serious, in fact he never regained consciousness. The emergency services could do nothing for the 76-year-old who died a few minutes after their arrival.
The people also arrived at the scene of the accident Pianoro traffic police who dealt with the investigations of the accident and the carabinieri of the local station in support of the Local Police.
Traffic was initially interrupted and then, while waiting for the road to be cleared and made safe, traffic continued in alternating one-way traffic for at least two hours.
It cannot be ruled out that the man had an illness while he was on his motorbike and that this was the cause of his going off-road.
What is certain is that Futa continues to be scary. In the last two weeks they are already two accidents that occurred: one between three motorbikes on the same stretch where Vittorino lost his life and one, last weekend, at Livergnano between a motorbike and a car.
Only a few days ago a meeting was held in the Prefecture between the mayors of the area and the police. The focus of the table was precisely the safety of those traveling there ss65 and, like every year, it was decided to carry out reinforced joint checks (carabinieri and local police) on the days of greatest influx of cars and motorbikes.
