Three and a half years after the death of Diego Armando Maradona and just over a month after the start of the trial against eight professionals, doctors and nurses, investigated for murder with possible intent for his death, a sensational new lead appears in Argentina.

According to Dr Pablo Ferrariappointed to draw up a new report by the lawyers of three of the suspects, Maradona died from an acute event and the presence of a toxic agent unrelated to the therapeutic drugs cannot be “excluded”, those which were prescribed to the Champion by the doctor Agustina Cosachovone of the suspects.

It is specified in this report written in a few days, contrary to that presented by a pool of twenty experts in the spring of three years ago, that Maradona’s agony was not a long one, as was established in 2021 (it was said to last twelve hours) . Contesting this act is not only the magistrates of the San Isidro Prosecutor’s Office who have investigated in recent years but also Rocio OlivaMaradona’s last partner, who in a television program ruled out that Pibe used drugs, after years of cocaine addiction which had ruined his career and put him at risk of death.

The expertise highlights another singular aspect. When Diego died, 500 milliliters of urine would have been taken for analysis but a total of 24 were found in the laboratory, an absolutely insufficient sample. Was there manipulation? And by whom? The conclusion that some commentators have reached in recent hours in Argentina is that it could be difficult for magistrates to demonstrate the responsibility of the eight suspects for Maradona’s death.

The eight suspects are the neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luquethe psychiatrist Agustina Cosachovthe psychologist Carlos Angel Diazthe coordinating doctor Nancy Edith Forlinithe nursing coordinator Mariano Ariel Perronithe nurse Ricardo Omar Almironthe nurse Dahiana Gisela Madrid and the doctor Pedro Pablo of Spain. The charge against them is murder with possible intent, which carries a sentence of 8 to 25 years.
