The Eyael and Vocalive choirs together in Naples

The Eyael choir directed by Enrica Di Martino and Vocalive directed by Riccardo Galassi, an African-American music choir that sings in a mixed “a cappella” formation with four and eight voice harmonizations, without the aid of instruments, give life to a musical event of quality in the church of Santa Chiara in Naples.

The Vocalive of Bologna have over 30 years of activity with concerts in Italy and abroad and every year they decide to do a tour in Italy:

this year they stopped in Naples, Pozzuoli, Formia and Gaeta thanks to the help of teacher Di Martino who found all the locations for the performances and allowed the two choirs to come together for a one-of-a-kind concert.

Vocalive aims to stimulate reflection in those who attend concerts, dreaming of being able to bring to the ears and hearts of those who are more attentive some sensations that are forgotten during the frenetic daily activity.

On the monumental presbytery of Santa Chiara the Eyael choir, excellently directed by teacher Di Martino, proposed traditional and progressive gospel singing Baba yetu, Tha battle of Jericho, Revelation 19.1, Gos Regneth forevere, Excellent is your name.

Strengthened by an intense and classy repertoire, the choir enchanted the large audience present in the church. It is worth underlining how, to every musical or theatrical activity proposed by the church or hosted in it, the public always responds with enthusiasm.

Once again the energy and competence of the teacher guarantee a professional result that highlights the effective work that the Eyael choir faces every day.

The vocalists enchant with their voices and offer a journey into contemporary and modern music and mainly includes traditional spirituals and gospel, but also blues songs, ballads and work songs of African-American origin or from the West Indies.

There is no shortage of soul and pop songs that take up the theme of love understood as a universal feeling.

The following are in the lineup: Hit the road Jack, Don’t let me be misunderstood, Oh happy day, Glory, Halleluja

Street of Philadelphia, Fragile, Fix you, I still haven’t found, Easy, Hey Jude, One.

A moment of comparison and growth for the two choirs who ended the concert by merging to sing Stand by me. A musical success, but also and above all, a moment of true brotherhood between artists and also with the public.
