A 33-year-old from Acireale, a habitual alcoholic with a violent nature, vented his anger against his young daughter, who had returned to live with him about a month ago, and against his new partner. The mistreatment, as reconstructed by the police who arrested the man, interrupting the spiral of violence, had been going on for some time and would have occurred even in the presence of the couple’s young children. The most striking episode dates back to the beginning of April. On this occasion, the father of the young woman, whose age was not disclosed in order to protect her, had casually listened to her daughter while she vented to a friend of hers, confiding in her the hateful behavior of her father.
The girl kicked by her father
In response, as soon as the two returned to their home in the Guardia Mangano area, the 33-year-old hit the poor girl with his hands, even tearing out locks of her hair and then kicking her. Her partner would also have witnessed the unmotivated beating, who with great clarity managed to immediately notify 112 about her, just before the attacker took her cell phone from her hands. In those excited moments, the girl also took advantage of the distraction of the agitated man, who was scolding the woman for having turned to the police, to telephone the police. Again, she had her phone snatched from her by the man, who then hurriedly left the house.
The young victim’s hair was also torn out
Thanks to the coordination of the operations center, within a few minutes the carabinieri showed up at that house, providing aid to the two victims and immediately making them safe. The young woman was in the living room, in the throes of a strong crying fit. She was shaking, experiencing pain in her head and unable to say anything. In her room, the signs of the attack that had occurred a few minutes before her were still evident: on the floor there were, in fact, locks of hair torn from her by her violent father, who in the meantime had lost track of her. An ambulance was called to the scene and transported the girl to the emergency room of the nearest hospital.
The violent man returns home drunk and is arrested
While the paramedics were leaving, the 33-year-old returned home. He showed up without shoes, in trousers and a vest, with a strong smell of alcohol on him and was also uttering disjointed words. At that point, the police, who had also taken his partner away from that property, arrested the violent man on charges of domestic abuse. The judicial authority validated the provision, ordering against him the precautionary measure of house arrest at another domicile.
