What is the status of the territories that were affected by the May 2023 flood in Emilia-Romagna? How many compensations have been paid to date? At what stage are the refreshment procedures? And how did companies and citizens restart in the twelve months that followed the floods?

Questions we are trying to answer Friday 3 May in Ravennaexactly one year after the start of the climate catastrophe that devastated Emilia-Romagna.

The Legacoop cooperative movement returns to shine the spotlight on the affected areas, with an event that represents the ideal continuation of the public demonstration organized last September in the same city. Then the cooperators found themselves at one of the points where the embankments were cut to try to save the inhabited areas, sacrificing the cultivated fields owned by the cooperatives.

The title chosen is significant: “Let’s hurry, it’s late”. A declaration of intent for those who not only want to take stock of the situation, but also and above all continue to urge concrete actions for a complete reconstruction.

Even the place chosen is not random: lo Copura logistics plantat the gates of the city, was one of those most compromised by the invasion of the waters.

«There are twenty-one cooperatives associated with us that have suffered damage, for a total of almost 42 million euros — explains the president of Legacoop Romagna, Paolo Lucchi —. We would like to continue to say we are optimistic about the many promises made by the government since the beginning of the emergency, but figures and facts to date tell us something else”.
