Three days of racing. Three different distances. And three gold medals around his neck. Anastasia Insabella of Jomar Club Catania stands out in Essen, Germany. The red and blue canoeist “smashes” the International Speed Canoe Race. The very young girl from Catania, at just 14 years of age, writes another wonderful page in her sporting history. Her first triumph in Germany came in the K1 Girls 200m category to the applause of the home crowd. Excellent performance by Anastasia who “flies” to the top step of the podium. The performances of K2 Ragazzi were also positive with Ivan Russo and Manuel Moro reaching the final. Important test for Sofia Di Grazia, who achieved an excellent sixth place in the K1 Girls.
Anastasia Insabella wins the second gold in the K1 Girls 5,000 meter race. Another great performance from the young Jomar team, who manages the cross-country race with great intelligence. The other talents of the Circolo Canoa Catania also shine in Essen, gaining important positions in the single and multiple boats: Carlo Trombetta, Ivan Russo, Manuel Moro, Sofia Di Grazia and Rebecca Puleo in the Boys category; Andrea Bodin Aquilina among the Juniors and the very young Andrea Consoli in the Under 14s.
In the third race, over the distance of 500 metres, K1 Girls category, Anastasia is still uncatchable. The Essen Arena applauds her and all the rossozzurri during the closing ceremony of the International Race. This year’s edition was record-breaking and of a very high competitive level, with over 1,000 athletes competing.
Also well done by Manuel Moro, Ivan Russo, Andreas Aquilina and Carlo Trombetta who performed well both in the multiple boats and in the individual trials, achieving their early season objectives. Among the women, in addition to the formidable Anastasia Insabella, Sofia Di Grazia shines one step away from the podium, Rebecca Puleo in great competitive growth and making her debut in the international field and the very young Andrea Consoli capable of an incredible progression in the K1 Cadette 500 meters race .
