Another emergency after the alarm yesterday afternoon
Two fires involved the fire brigade teams of the Oristano provincial command and the Ales detachment during the night.
The first alarm went off in the middle of the night in the countryside of Nureci. For reasons yet to be ascertained, an uninhabited farmhouse with a reed roof was destroyed by flames.
The men of Ales’ 115 intervened on site. The team worked for a few hours before putting out the fire. Investigations are underway to identify the causes of the fire. The Carabinieri of the Mogoro Company are also investigating.
The other fire spread at first light on the outskirts of Riola Sardo, where the flames attacked a reed thicket. Investigations are also underway in this case.
Tonight’s episodes after the afternoon of mobilization of the fire-fighting forces: yesterday, all the fire brigade teams of the Oristano provincial command were involved in tackling the advance of the fire.
Around 6pm the flames threatened the agricultural village of Is Bangius, in the Marrubiu area, below Monte Arci.
Since 8pm the firefighters have been busy with a fire in the countryside between Villanova Truschedu and Ollastra. In this case the flames broke out in an area not far from the Tirso river.
The high temperatures, well above the seasonal average, and the wind certainly facilitated the spread of the fires.
