meeting and guided tour of May 2024 – Padovanews

The socio-cultural group of the Elderly Association of Rubano aps – The Center proposes two new events for the month of May:

• Wednesday 8 May 2024 – conference at the association headquarters “THE VENETIANS – “Recipe Book of Memory“. A long journey of centuries into the traditions, habits and customs that have created the Venetian identity throughout three thousand years of history. Speaker Dr. Francesco Joiri, former deputy director of the GAZZETTINO and historian of our territory.
• Wednesday 15 May 2024 – guided tour at Palazzo S. STEFANO in Padua, seat of the Prefecture of Padua. Historic seat of the Province of Padua and the Prefecture since 1868, Palazzo Santo Stefano was founded around the year 1000 as a female Benedictine monastery. The transformations over time have been numerous and we will follow them through a museum itinerary that unfolds in three parts: the first, through the grand staircase, between the ground, first and basement floors of the building – the second includes a visit to the gas shelter underground, the third – along Piazza Antenore and Riviera Tito Livio – leads to the UNPA air raid shelter (flyer attached).

Appointment in Piazza Antenore at 9.40 am.

Participation fee: €10.00 – maximum number of participants 20 (two groups of ten people are foreseen, alternating between an external part in Piazza Antenore and an internal part).
