Bologna, 30 April 2024 – Exclusive interviews with saved and saviorsunpublished images of rescue operations and embankment breaches, audio never listened to with the emergency calls of those nights of terror: here are the first images of ‘I saw hell‘, the documentary on the flood of May 2023 by Valerio Baroncini and Marco Santangelo produced by Qn – the Resto del Carlino with the patronage of the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Cineteca di Bologna and created with the support of the Bcc of Ravenna, Forlì and Imola. To make the documentary the reporters of the Pug they have followed families for a year, law enforcement and volunteers and made use of the original music by Marco ‘Reno’ Solferini. You can find it in this trailer a small summary of the work.

The podcasts it will be released for six Fridays in a row starting from May 3rd and you can find it, as well as on our website on all platforms, Spotify, Google and Apple podcast. The hour-long documentary will be available on our sites from May 17thbut there will be a preview open to readers (with entry methods that we will indicate in the next few days) and to institutions.

The appointment is for May 16th at 6pm in Bologna at the renovated Modernissimo cinema: there will then be others free screenings in Romagna in all the cities affected by the flood, thanks to the support of the Bcc of Ravenna, Forlì and Imola. We will start from Ravenna then on May 22nd Imola on the 23rd, Faenza on the 27th, Forlì And Cesena to be defined: for a year we followed families and survivors, from the small Bolognese town of Selva Malvezzi to the Montepaolo hermitage, in the Forlì area strangled by landslides.
