A tragic accident occurred along the Messina-Palermo motorway, precisely in the Cipolla tunnel, where a fatal collision occurred between a car and a truck. The dramatic event occurred between the Brolo and Rocca di Caprileone junctions towards Palermo on the A20.
Unfortunately, following the impact, a young man aged just 23, resident in Palermo, lost his life instantly. Another person was seriously injured and was immediately transported to Sant’Agata Militello hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
The police, including traffic police officers, firefighters and 118 medical personnel, promptly intervened at the scene of the accident to manage the situation and provide assistance to any injured people.
Following this tragic event, a mandatory exit along the motorway was made at the Brolo junction and a return to Rocca di Caprileone, in order to facilitate rescue operations and allow the cleaning of the roadway. – Stock image.
