Laigueglia. “Laigueglia Longevity Project” is a Destination Management Organization project, created by Franco Laureriwhich brings professionals together of medicine, wellness and fitness in order to deseasonalize the climatic-seaside offer with services and tourist proposals linked to active and healthy aging.
This project is inspired by studies and scientific research on healthy aging which indicate physical activity and healthy eating as the basis of longevity.
The initiativesupported by the Libertas Liguria Regional Sports Center and CONI – Savona delegation, it is the first in Liguria. It was designed to create valuable products and services that guarantee tourist attractiveness throughout the year, thus supporting local entrepreneurship and enhancing the services dedicated to care, rehabilitation and getting back into shape offered by specialists operating in Laigueglia .
The president Libertas Liguria, Roberto Pizzorno, said: “This initiative marks a new chapter for the deseasonalization of our tourism, based on the pillar of outdoor and indoor physical activity, offering year-round experiences and promoting a healthy lifestyle. With the support of CONI and the collaboration of industry experts, we are creating the foundations to develop new products capable of relaunching the low season on our coast.”
The project’s strategic objectives include deseasonalization, which aims to overcome the challenge of seasonality by offering valuable tourist experiences throughout the year. Furthermore, the aim is to create a network of fitness, wellness, health and medical professionals, thus forming an ecosystem of integrated services. Finally, the project aligns with the World Health Organization’s directives for the 2021-2030 decade dedicated to “HealthyAgeing”.
“Laigueglia Longevity” presents itself as a Destination Management Organization model, with the ambition of exporting the Longevity destination concept to other locations, positioning Liguria as an ideal destination for tourism focused on well-being and longevity.
