Gabriel Deleraico completed a dream two days at the Italian Youth Championships in Terni and won his third title out of as many available.

After the victories obtained yesterday in the mixed and men’s doubles, today the Vigevano Sport table tennis player also won the Under 13 singles. In the final the no. 2 in the seeding was the protagonist of a test of resistance and after losing the first two sets, he overcame the no. 1 Pietro Andreoli (Tennistavolo Ferrara), winning three in a row on play-off points (8-11, 4-11, 13-11, 12-10, 15-13).

The match offered a thousand emotions, because Andreoli had match points in all the sets he lost, one in the third (11-10), three in the fourth (10-7) and two in the fifth (11-10 and 12- 11). In the end Deleraico, who had not exploited two closing balls at 10-9 and 13-12, was able to celebrate at the third (14-13) by letting himself go long lying on the ground. The hug that united the two boys at the end was beautiful and Andreoli was good at accepting the bitter verdict in a sporting manner, even though his regret was evident and more than understandable.

Third step of the podium for Robert Graur (Tennistavolo Castel Goffredo), who found the red puck for 3-1 (11-6, 7-11, 9-11, 9-11) against Deleraico, and for Tommaso Simi (Polisportiva Pulcini Cascina Table Tennis), who lost 3-1 (7-11, 11-8, 5-11, 10-12) at the hands of Andreoli.

Deleraico had previously eliminated Andrea Perego (US Villa Romanò) in the round of 16 3-0 (13-11, 11-8, 11-8) and in the quarterfinals 3-0 (11-2, 11-5, 11-8) Alessandro Ausili (Tennistavolo Fabriano Fenalc), while Andreoli had prevailed 3-0 (11-7, 11-3, 11-6) over Federico Bellissimo (Centro Polisportivo Uisp Germaine Lecocq) and 3-0 (11-7, 14 -12, 12-10) on Loris Ceccoli (SS Juvenes Republic of San Marino).

Tomorrow the Italian event will end with the team competitions, which will begin at 8.30 am, with the usual live streaming on the FITeT YouTube channel.
