Now almost twenty years after that triumph arrived in the presence of Bruce Willis – guest of that final which crowned her Miss Italy – Edelfa Chiara Masciotta returned to talk about her career after her experience at the beauty contest in a long interview with Corriere della Serarevealing ups and downs also of his private life, from his son’s illness to the great sacrifices up to the frightening accident of which he still bears the scars today. Let’s find out What he said.

Edelfa Chiara Masciotta and her son’s diabetes

Three years after the victory of Miss Italy 2005 Edelfa Chiara Masciotta she began a long relationship with the Milanese director Roberto Cenci, which ended in 2012. The two had a son, Andrea, who fell ill at a very young age. “At three years old my first son developed type 1 diabetes” said the former model from Turin in a long open-hearted interview with Corriere della Sera. Edelfa Chiara Masciotta explained that she had to make decisions and sacrifices, but that she had never regretted anything: “The right thing for me to do was to leave everything and stay behind him 100%. I’ve never had a second thought and I’m happy about it“. From there, however, years later a new life also began: “I turned my life around and also my artistic side. And I signed up for the IED.”

The accident and operations

It was very traumatic and I still carry the scars of it today” said Edelfa Chiara Masciotta, speaking of the bad accident of 2019, dating back to the period in which the former model attended the European Institute of Design. The former showgirl was hit by a car in Turin, in Corso Matteotti, and from there began a troubled journey of which it still bears the marks: “I had to go through five operations, I found myself without a nose. Full of scars on my face that kept producing cysts. But I don’t want to complain (…) The doctors were good. Even though many are still there. So she resorts to some tricks, a longer fringe, a tuft… “.

Today Edelfa Chiara Masciotta is interior designer and her life alongside Alessandro Rosina, a former footballer with whom she had two other children, has found the right dimension, despite the large waivers made in the past, from dance (dream broken by a bad Achilles tendon injury) to acting: “The competition gave me great visibility but I would have liked to have more time to deepen my knowledge, instead I had to attend many institutional events. I would have liked to work hard to become a good actress.”
