The Lazio Regional Council, upon proposal of the councilor for Personnel, Urban Security, the local Police, local authorities and the University, Luisa Regimentsapproved the allocation of two million euros for the strengthening of the local police in Lazio which will be provided to the Municipalities of Lazio through a public notice called “Local Police 4.0”.
The Notice provides for the provision of contributions to local authorities for the strengthening and modernization of instrumental equipment, such as cars and motor vehicles, with the use of innovative technologies, which allow the prevention and repression of various criminal cases in an increasingly effective manner and guarantee systematic and widespread control; the strengthening of supervisory activities in the areas most subject to risk of exposure to criminal activities; participation in professional training courses of a strictly technical-operational nature, aimed at obtaining the recognized certification of “Remote Drone Pilot”, aimed at an active and effective use of highly innovative instrumentation for the control of the territory and for combating crimes.
“The Rocca Council – underlines the councilor Regiments – is concretely alongside the men and women of the local police of Lazio with precious resources that had not been provided since 2014 and which will be useful for modernizing the equipment available to agents and for training aimed at using drones. We have developed these measures in close collaboration with the Technical-Advisory Committee of the Local Police reactivated last year, a sign of renewed attention towards those who work in the area on a daily basis.
The tasks of the local police have gradually expanded over time, with heterogeneous, transversal and constantly evolving skills. Allowing agents to work in the best way means help mayors respond to the growing demand for decorum, safety and legality which comes from the citizens of the Municipalities of Lazio. We will continue to work to relaunch the Corps and bring the local police of Lazio to a higher level of efficiency and professionalism”.
