Santiago Ferraro, originally from Cervteri, triumphs in the Rome Liberation Grand Prix: “I was on the attack for most of the race and then I managed to win the sprint”
Santiago Ferraro triumphs in the Gran Premio Liberazione, held in Rome, demonstrating his ability despite his young age, having been born in 2006. The boy, originally from Cervteri, took his first steps in cycling starting from the G3 category and currently attends classical high school , combining studies with training on the Tolfa hills.
During the Gran Premio Liberazione, he was accompanied by his family, including his grandfather Giuseppe, who supported him along the way despite his physical difficulties. Ferraro appears incredulous at his victory: “I really can’t believe it… Until yesterday morning I didn’t even have to do this race. I was brought in at the last minute to replace my partner Edvard Novak, who was injured last Thursday. I was on the attack for most of the race and then managed to win the sprint. And I’m also surprised because in my last race I didn’t feel at my best. What worked this time? Maybe a little luck… I couldn’t say. I tried several times, but the decisive one was three kilometers from the finish line.”
