Recognize and prevent forms of youth distress: with this objective the Municipality of Carpaneto has organized a meeting aimed at all citizens, and in particular those who deal with children for work reasons and beyond, such as teachers, catechists , coaches, on May 2nd at 8.30 pm in Sala Bot. The protagonists of the meeting were the pedagogists and experts of the Street Educators association.
“Among the most important issues, in the context of the protection of young people, and the accompaniment in their growth, there is that linked to the prevention and fight against risks, which threaten their behavior – states the mayor Andrea Arfani -. It is known that the creation phase is the most delicate, as it is precisely in it that the personality, character and physiognomy of today’s adolescent and tomorrow’s adult are formed. And it is equally well known, unfortunately, how many situations, today more than ever, put the normal and peaceful development of this phase at risk. These risks are due to external factors, which end up spilling over into the more personal sphere of girls and boys. Precisely at this moment, the family, the school, all the realities in which the children have fallen, must take action, offering all the support they need. The Municipality of Carpaneto wants to offer these organizations useful tools to be able to adequately carry out the delicate task of guiding and supporting the children that they are called upon to carry out. So here is the project started with the Street Educators and which will see various meetings on specific themes, aimed at helping children, families, schools, associations, to better face the challenges of growth”.
The first appointment is scheduled for Thursday 2 May, at 8.30 pm in Sala Bot. “We strongly wanted the participation of street educators because we have the good of our young people at heart – explains the councilor for family policies Silvia Rapaccioli -. Since this Association is made up of young educators as well as professionals, we think it could be a “new” way to listen to the needs and requirements of our adolescents. It was decided to schedule training meetings with parents and middle school children to address thorny issues such as bullying, alcohol or cigarette abuse”.
