The accident occurred at 10 this morning. Firefighters intervened on site and lifted the carriage to extract the elderly man, who, despite the impact, survived for a few hours.

The man was hit by a convoy on the Alba-Ciriè route. The train was repeating in the direction of Cirié when the elderly man was hit. The driver braked to try to avoid it and also rang several times to get the man away from the tracks. It was then he who alerted the emergency services, the passengers were let off. Rail service on the route is suspended.
