«There are no longer the fascists of the past. Only sheep.” Michele Riondino, actor and artistic director of the concert One Free and Thinking May in Taranto, celebrates April 25th on social media by publishing an old photo of Ignazio La Russa, now president of the Senate, while he is posing with a bouquet of flowers and a blow-up of Benito Mussolini. The shot is shared upside down, a clear reference to the death of the leader of the National Fascist Party in Piazzale Loreto. And the message is a harsh attack on the Meloni government and its representatives. «The really funny thing is that there was a time when the fascists were more authentic, more bold, they were lions, even if only for a day», writes the actor from Taranto, «they claimed their identity without fear of being accused of being traitors and murderers of the homeland. Today, however, they are afraid to define themselves, to claim their faith.” According to Riondino, in the majority there are still those who feel close to the values of the Twenty Years. «They betray their identity by swearing on the anti-fascist constitution and then by sitting on the armchair they become champions of the super cock, black belt in climbing on mirrors», he continues, «I say this sincerely. There are no longer the fascists of the past. Only sheep.” And then he concludes: «This is what yesterday’s fascists are who have become today’s rulers. Better a life as a sheep than a day as a lion. Long live the resistance.”
