McNulty flies to Romandie, Van Den Broeck wins in Türkiye

Brandon McNulty he teams up with the weather and surprisingly wins the Oron Time Trial, third stage of the Tour of Romandie. The American from UAE Emirates, at the bottom of the general classification, was among the very first to start and therefore among the few not to have to deal with the rain, which instead disturbed most of the runners. Second final time for Magnus Sheffield of Ineos Grenadiers, who finished 12” more than his compatriot McNulty, while the Austrian Felix Groβschartner took the third step of the podium, 14” behind the winner. The top of the general classification goes to Juan Ayuso, who finished in fourth place, 21″ behind McNulty and who did better than all the other men in the rankings. The Spaniard now has a 7” lead in the general classification over Ilan Van Wilder. In Türkiye it was Frank Van Den Broeck to win the queen stage by taking the leader’s jersey away from teammate Andresen and effectively securing the final success. The sixth, after a series of fast stages, was expected to be the decisive one. 160 kilometres, the last 14 of which with an average gradient of 7 percent. With two stages still to go the Dutch Van Den Broek leads with 4″ on Kudus and 9″ on Double. The best among the Italians is Valerio Conti, twelfth.
