A fire damaged a large warehouse under renovation near the San Lorenzo market. The flames engulfed the structure located in via San Lorenzo 16 behind Casale San Lorenzo. Several fire brigade teams intervened also because at first it was thought that there were several gas cylinders in the shed. This is why the teams from the NBCR unit also arrived. Eventually the fire was put out. The Carabinieri also intervened and are investigating the nature of the fire which from an initial investigation appears to be arson.
The fire in Porticello
A fire damaged a boat in the port of Porticello in the municipality of Santa Flavia (Palermo). The flames broke out at dawn and engulfed the boat which was in the storage area. Firefighters intervened and put out the fire and prevented the flames from spreading to other boats.
Car on fire in Monreale
A fire damaged the cars of a husband and wife in via Pezzingoli in Monreale. The cars were engulfed in flames. Firefighters arrived and put out the flames. Investigations are underway by the police to ascertain the causes of the fire.
Fire in Florida
A fire broke out in the afternoon in a window and door warehouse in via Di Vittorio, in the Marchesa neighborhood of Floridia. According to an initial reconstruction, the flames broke out in the area of the warehouse and then spread quickly. Some passers-by asked for help and shortly afterwards the firefighters of the provincial command of Syracuse arrived and are taking steps to contain the flames while the carabinieri are already working to understand if it was a fire malicious or if, instead, it is an accident. Traffic is in haywire, the municipal police, to allow rescuers to intervene also to avoid the spread of the fire, have blocked entry into that area, diverting traffic elsewhere.
