The students of Santa Chiara
They are the pupils of the fifth classes of the primary school of the Santa Chiara Enna comprehensive institute, directed by Antonietta Di Franco, who concluded their annual citizenship project in the Town Hall last Wednesday.
A political lesson
An experience planned at the beginning of the school year which allowed the children of the fifth A classes of the Santa Chiara plexus and fifth C classes of the Sant’Onofrio plexus to get to know the State regulations and the institutions of the city of Enna and of meet the protagonists of public life: the mayor Maurizio Dipietro, who visited the school group in March giving everyone copies of the Italian Constitution, and the president of the municipal council, Paolo Gargaglione, who last Wednesday welcomed the children in the Sala d ‘Is one.
The little counselors
The small city councilors simulated a Council session, experiencing a classroom debate, proposals and votes and dialogue with President Gargaglione.
“Legality is internalized by living it and the institutions cannot remain names on the pages of books, but must be met face to face – commented principal Di Franco – this year our institute is carrying out various projects that involve children and young people on the sense of citizenship, social and cultural identity, respect for institutional symbols through paths that unite all subjects together, from Italian to motor science, from history to music”.
