A new presentation of the anthology of the winners of the Racconti nella Rete 2023 prize is scheduled for Saturday 27 April at 5.30 pm at the Caffè Letterario Le Murate. Florence is the last stop on a literary tour which saw the meeting with the winners of the award first in Lucca as part of the LuccAutori festival and then in the cities of Milan, Rome, Naples, Perugia and Modena.

Presenting the volume published by Castelvecchi will be the president of the literary prize and LuccAutori Demetrio Brandi and the writers Isabella Marchini, Ave Moretti, Ilaria Pizzini and Simona Visciglia. In addition to the interviews and readings of part of the stories included in the anthology, the short film “Separè” will be presented, written by Piero Fittipaldi and directed by Giuseppe Ferlito, winner of the shorts section of the 2023 edition. “We are always happy to return to Florence, the city from which several prize winners come who regularly come to celebrate the new writers published in the anthology – says Demetrio Brandi –. It will be a pleasure to meet again many authors who made their debut with Racconti nella Rete and present the actors Hussein Hazem Reda, Noemi Pasta, Pawel Tadeusz Palus and Caterina Marchetti protagonists of the short ‘Separè’”.

The new competition has already started on the website www.raccontinellarete.it and will end next May. Anyone who has an unpublished story, a children’s story or a subject for a short film can participate in the 23rd edition. There is no age limit and all registered users on the site can comment on the stories in competition.

“It is an author’s showcase – states Brandi –. Anyone who has an unpublished story or a subject for the Shorts section can participate in the Award. Racconti nella Rete aims to be an opportunity for expression and discussion between more or less young aspiring writers. In a sort of virtual agora, everyone finds the privileged space to give voice to their fantasies, memories or dreams, to try their hand at creative writing and to test the value and quality of their work, meeting unknown talents or immediately comparing themselves with different narrative styles, genres and contents. This is the moment in which everyone, from the professional to the amateur, has full possibility of expression and equal dignity of listening. Many of the authors published in anthologies in recent years have achieved brilliant results in the literary field.”

Among the prizes awarded to the winners are those for the youngest writer (awarded by the AIDR Italian Digital Revolution Foundation) and for the humorous story (awarded by the online humorous newspaper Buduàr). Furthermore, the prize for the best travel story awarded by the Happyin portal. The 25 winners will be awarded as part of the 30th edition of the LuccAutori festival, scheduled in Lucca from 5 to 20 October.

Among the new features are the cover of the new anthology signed by Fabio Sironi, a photographic exhibition dedicated to the people who were guests of the festival and an exhibition of important contemporary artists dedicated to Giacomo Puccini on the centenary of his death.
