ARSIE’ (BELLUNO) – He would not have coped with his father’s death: after the funeral he would have headed to Corlo lake and there yesterday morning his resurfaced dead body. A history of despair that of the 55-year-old from Feltre found dead drowned in the shared basin of Arsiè. The body, reported by a person who was canoeing in the waters, was recovered yesterday at 10.15am by the firefighters. After the coroner’s investigations, the carabinieri, in contact with the magistrate on duty, gave the green light to the removal. No further investigations are needed: it would have been a voluntary gesture.

HISTORY
A life in symbiosis with the parent that of man. They were left alone a few years ago after the death of their mother-wife. Then on Sunday, further pain: his father, his family, also died at the age of 84. He just had the strength to organize the last farewell which was held on Tuesday. Then the pain of losing that reference figure gave him no respite. After a few hours he would head to the lake where he would put an end to his suffering. In the following days the funeral home tried in vain to call him: they had to deliver the ashes of his father, who had been cremated after the funeral ceremony. Unanswered calls. Inexplicable. Yesterday the news that left everyone shocked.

THE RECOVERY
It was 10.15am when the emergency vehicles arrived at Lake Arsiè, in front of the shore in front of the large car park in Rocca Campagna, therefore close to the Water Park. The carabinieri of the Arsié station also intervened, after a telephone call, with the mayor of Arsié Luca Strappazzon and a traffic policeman. The police notified the family for the official identification of the body, which was immediately brought to shore by the firefighters who intervened promptly. The identification of the document remained confidential out of respect for the family members who did not yet know what had happened. The report to the authorities, as mentioned, came from a man who was taking a canoe ride and who unfortunately had noticed that a body was floating near the shore overlooking the large car park which was empty of vehicles given the time and morning with cloudy sky.

THE SHAPE
When he saw the figure floating he hurriedly rowed to bring help to the unfortunate man: but as he approached he immediately realized that the man was dead and called the authorities who arrived immediately on the spot. But they couldn’t do anything but bring the body to the shore, then covering it with a white cloth.

THE ELEMENTS
Lake Corlo these days is at its maximum flooded, which at the Corlo dam is reported at 280 meters. The recovered body had been in the water for some time: the man was wearing the same clothes he wore at his father’s funeral ceremony. He didn’t leave any note. But all the elements have led to the hypothesis of a voluntary gesture. The news of the 55-year-old’s death spread immediately in the Feltre area, leaving those who knew him dismayed. A double tragedy in the space of a few days that struck the unfortunate family.

THE PREVIOUS
Since the beginning of 2024, he is the second person to lose his life in the waters of Lake Corlo. The first of her was from a woman from the Valdobbiadene area, recovered from the basin after she had disappeared from home for a few days.
