Another serious accident at work. In the early afternoon today, Friday 26 April, an 18-year-old worker fell from a height of approximately 10 meters into a shaft in Via Senato 13 in Milan. His condition immediately appeared serious and he was transported to hospital under code red. Investigations are underway by the local police who are trying to accurately reconstruct the dynamics of the event.
The accident
According to initial reconstructions, the worker, an 18-year-old of Albanian origins, was working in a building under renovation in the center of Milan around 3pm. For reasons yet to be ascertained, he fell from a height of approximately 10 metres, falling into a shaft. The 118 rescuers and the firefighters of the Alpine Fluvial Speleo Unit intervened on site, bringing him back to the surface thanks to a complex rescue maneuver. The young man was transported to the San Raffaele hospital in Milan, suffering from various injuries. The exact dynamics of the accident are still unknown.
