ROME – Science and faith: dialogue possible? Between the two, does science have the last word? Or faith? To answer these questions, Eva CrosettaSunday 28 April, 7.30 am, Rai Tremeet the prof. Marco Bersanelliastrophysicist, professor of astronomy and astrophysics at the University of Milan.
He began scanning the sky when he was a child; since then he has never stopped questioning the shape of the universe, the meaning of life, taking up the challenge of pushing beyond the boundaries of the observable. The cameras will enter the Specola Vatican of Castel Gandolfo (RM), the astronomical observatory of the popes, which has always been entrusted to the Jesuits.
Among scientific instruments, meteorite samples and blow-ups that testify to the passage of the Popes in this crossroads between science and religion, P. Gabriele Gionti (deputy director, cosmologist) will guide the public through the mysteries of the cosmos. Within Vito Sidoti’s program, also a special interview with Michel-Yves Bolloré and Olivier Bonnassies, who with their latest publication have reignited the debate in France on the relationship between science and faith. Their “provocation”: the most recent scientific acquisitions rationally postulate the existence of a creator God.
