PIEDMONT – A poem in Molise dialect, an illustrated story in Villette dialect (from Villette, in the Vco) and a song in Lizzano dialect: these are the areas of the ninth edition of the national literary competition “Save your local language”.

The award is created by Unpli – National Pro Loco Union of Italy and ALI – Italian Local Autonomies of Lazio; the awards ceremony took place in recent days at the Museum of Civilizations in Rome.

For the poetry section, Fabiola Gianfrancesco from Bojano (CB) obtained first place, thanks to the evocative rhymes dedicated to the rediscovery of the ancient profession of the cobbler, who fixes shoes worn by walking. For the prose section, the winner was an illustrated calendar from the “A. Testone” by Villette (VCO) which traces the months of the year through legends and ancient popular proverbs. A class of the “A. Manzoni” of Lizzano (TA) finally won the music section with a song with original sounds, which tells the life of the boys of Lizzano, in a sort of revival of the novel I boys of Via Pal.
