An accident occurred in the woods of Dambel, in Val di Non. According to an initial reconstruction, a 38-year-old woodcutter was hit by a tree after cutting it, slipping down a slope and ending up in the gutter of a stream, after a flight approximately 5 metres. The call to the Single Emergency Number 112 came around 4.50pm from a person who was with him.
The Single Trentino Emergency Center requested the intervention of the helicopter, while the operators of the Alta Val di Non Station of the Alpine and Speleological Rescue went to the pitch, ready to provide support in case of need. Once on site, the helicopter winched the air rescue technician with the medical team. The man, unconscious and in serious condition due to possible multiple traumas sustained from the fall, was intubated on the spot. After being stabilized and placed on stretchers, he was winched aboard the helicopter to be transferred to the Santa Chiara hospital in Trento. Firefighters were also on site. The operation ended shortly after 6pm.
