Tuscia is on the roof of the world in the extra virgin olive oil production sector. Once again the province of Viterbo stands out internationally for the excellence of green gold. This time the variety of oil “Le Rose Caninese” produced by Pierluigi Presciuttini’s company was included among the top 20 best oils in the world of the prestigious international Evooleum competition with a score of 90 out of 100 and was included in the 2025 guide.

Evooleum is an international competition for the quality of extra virgin olive oils which every year chooses the 100 best extra virgin olive oils in the world. An exclusive and prestigious group of global expert tasters is responsible for evaluating the organoleptic quality of the samples presented, from which comes the exclusive Top100 of the best extra virgin olive oils in the world in each campaign, as well as the best in their different categories, varieties and countries , such as the Top 20 for small productions under 2,500 kilograms.

The entire competition and tasting process takes place in front of a notary and includes the verification of the origin of at least 10% of the selected samples, which are randomly designated by the notary.

The “Le Rose Caninese” variety is a fine oil with a green color with golden reflections. This variety is harvested in the period between September 28th and October 10th and gives this oil a predominance of pungent flavor with a medium fruity, clear herbaceous aroma of olive, with soft notes of cut grass and artichoke.

“The satisfaction of the good work done so far, with patience, all comes. The recognition obtained today identifies my small production, in the Tuscia Viterbo area, as one of the best 20 in the world. Well this news fills me with joy and suggests me to continue firmly along the path undertaken so far. I thank all those who have been part of this journey that started in 2019 which, I am convinced, is just beginning” declares Pierluigi.

It is not the first time that the “Le Rose” extra virgin olive oil has been awarded prizes: The green olive oil already boasts the Gold medal at the prestigious Evo-Iooc International Competition and the Gold Medal at the Amsterdam Iooc Competitionhe is also a finalist in the prestigious Lodo Guide Competition and the 2024 Golden Lion.

In Tuscia alone there are over 100 thousand abandoned plants that no one has cared for and managed for years. Well, one of the objectives of the Presciuttini company is to recover as many of these plants as possible, bringing them back into production by taking care of all aspects of the supply chain, from pruning to fertilization, harvesting and processing of the fruits.
