Workshop on the preparation and creation of a self tape

The workshop, carried out over five days, online, is aimed at all actresses and actors professionals who intend to focus onlearning or improvement of preparation and recovery of a self tape.
Four days before the start, the scene to be shot independently will be delivered and which will serve as analysis and exercise material for the first part of the work. In the first three daysIn fact, we will focus on the stages fundamentals to the creation of an effective self-tape. While the last two days we will dedicate ourselves to the viewing and analysis of new scenes, which will have been delivered, studied and shot by the participants during the week of interval between the two weekends of the course.
Through a series of practical exercises that will be performed, in class and at home, we will train to:
- discover and extrapolate from the scene all the present and useful information to understand its meaning:the rules of interpretation inherent in writing the screenplay text; there nature of the conflict exterior and interior of the Character; the situation he finds himself in, the problems he encounters and the solutions he seeks to resolve them; the psychophysical characteristics of the Character, such as, for example, habits and aspirations;
- customize the material designed to act in a scenically credible way and making the own interpretation more natural and effectivedeeper, spontaneous and varied, rich in nuances and free from clichés;
- prepare the setorganizing their own physical actionsand any movements, for “inhabit” the space of the frame organically and create a natural and effective interaction with the partner(s) off-screen, as a function of the camera.
Furthermore, we will work on the sense of confidence and trust; on relaxation techniqueswhich allow you to have the right acting caliber; on knowledge of sculpture of one’s face and its non-verbal messages; on the use of references and prototypes; on take-to-take variations, on the review and analysis of the latter and how warm up, arouse, maintain And modify the necessary emotional state.
Many exercises can be trained and developed independently, to also be applied to the preparation of an in-person audition, or to work on set.
To each participant Personalized advice and guidance will be given in light of the work done.
Where: Zoom When: 17,18,19, 25 and 26 May 2024. How much: 30 hours of work. 6 hours a day from 10.00am to 1.00pm; 2.00pm – 5.00pm. Maximum number of participants: 10 participants
Selected candidates will be notified via email of detailed information about the scenes to prepare for the starting day and any time changes.
Participation in the workshop will be AFTER SELECTION.

- a presentation video lasting 1’30” max.

To participate in the Masterclass it is mandatory to be a member of DARTE Theater Company.
The cost of the workshop is Euro 200 (membership card excluded).
For students and graduates of recognized Theater Schools and Academies it is expected a 5% discount on the course fee.

KARINA ARUTYUNYAN
Theater and cinema actress since 1989.
Acting teacher at the Accademia dei Filodrammatici in Milan and the Accademia Teatrale Carlo Goldoni in Venice. And the Paolo Civica Scuola di Teatro Fats. Furthermore, it holds the Annual online workshop on the SELF TAPE for the third year ofCarlo Goldoni Theater Academy and the TRAINING for the Course of Specialization in Film Acting for the same Academy, numerous workshops at various film acting schools in Moscow. He has worked for Italian cinema and television, participating among others in the award-winning short film Deadline by Massimo Coglitore, a Men’s look And Slight cracks on the surrounding wall by Federico Rizzo, to fiction Squad (RAI3), to the television film Secret Hunt, direct by Massimo Spano (RAI 1). And among the most recent audiovisual productions there are fiction The Bastards of Pizzofalcone 2, directed by Alessandro D’Alatri (RAI 1), the short film Alexia by Lorsi di Pasquale and the docu-film Low the hour, produced by Emera Film and directed by Rebecca Basso. Furthermore, he participates in various international audiovisual productions, including two TV series produced by First National Channel in Russia: theIncursion (remake of the cult French series Braquo, designed by Olivier Marchal) of 2017 and With the First That Happens of 2019 and two French television series, produced by Canal+: Le Bureau – Undercover 5 of 2020, directed by Jerome Salle And Jacques Audiard And Infinite of 2021 directed by Thierry Poiraud. Among his partners on the small and big screen are Paolo Pierobon, Guido Caprino, Alessandro Gassmann, Mathieu Kassovitz, Jonathan Zaccai, Vladimir Mashkov, Celine Sallette.
In collaboration with Valentina Materiale, Milanese casting director conceived and created:
- The Intensive laboratory on film acting THE ACTOR FROM THE THEATER TO THE CINEMA at theAcademy of Amateur Dramatics of Milan;
- The Laboratory on DIALOGUE BETWEEN DIRECTOR AND ACTOR IN THE CINEMA And THE DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE ACTOR AND THE CAMERA at Experimental Center of Milan;
- The SILENT ACTING Laboratory for the international film festival Lands of Cinema in Sicily.
