Hamas will not accept a truce agreement without a permanent ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip. Khalil al Hayya, member of the Hamas political office, said this to the broadcaster “Al Jazeera”.

“Hamas has not closed the door on negotiations and is serious about releasing the hostages as part of an agreement that also guarantees the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons,” Al Hayya said. Among the objectives there is also the “unhindered return of displaced Palestinians to their homes in all parts of the Strip, the reconstruction of Gaza and the end of the siege”.

The Palestinian group delivered its response to the latest proposal, which included a US amendment, on April 13, and is “still waiting for a response from Israel and the mediators,” Al Hayya continued, adding that “the point What has blocked the negotiations is Israel’s refusal to accept a permanent ceasefire.”

Meanwhile, Gaza Civil Protection teams have analyzed the bodies of 392 people buried in mass graves at the Nasser hospital in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

“Civil defense teams have unearthed 392 bodies from mass graves,” Yamen Abu Sulaiman, head of Gaza’s civil defense agency, said at a news conference in the southern city of Rafah on Thursday, the news agency reported. Anadolu press.

Among the victims were the bodies of children. “We don’t know the reason for the presence of children’s bodies in the hospital’s mass graves,” Abu Sulaiman said.

He also said evidence of torture was found on some bodies. “There are indications of field executions against some of the victims, while the bodies of other victims bore signs of torture and others were buried alive,” Abu Sulaiman said.

During the press conference, a civil protection official shared a video of the victims with obvious torture marks on their bodies, which were shackled with plastic belts.

Many of the victims “were buried in plastic bags and placed at a depth of three meters, which accelerated their decomposition.”
