The State Police arrested a 63-year-old from Bari but resident in Manduria because he was allegedly responsible for the crime of persecutory acts.

In recent days, agents from the Manduria police station intervened in the town following a report of a harassing person received at the emergency number 113 of the Operations Room.

At the scene, the police found the man in a strong state of agitation, with his trousers down.

The policemen, with no little difficulty, managed to secure the man, already known to the police because he was under the so-called “Red Code” following two complaints lodged against him by two local women, and to take him to the Commissariat offices.

On site the officers also made contact with the alleged victim, who had previously sued the man for persecutory acts; the woman told her colleagues that even that afternoon the man had continued to persecute her, threatening her with death and undressing but despite her fright, she managed to film the scene.

The second woman, who had sued the 63-year-old in the past, also went to the Manduria police station offices to testify that she had clearly heard the threats that the man had made to the alleged victim shortly before.

In light of the above, the documents were sent to the competent judicial authority, the man was arrested and taken to the Taranto prison.
