Villas and palaces, Friuli opens its treasures to the public

The second edition of the event began yesterday and will continue until Sunday Historic Houses Festival organized by Adsi Fvg (Association of historic homes) throughout the region. Four days to learn about the history of Friuli Venezia Giulia by visiting and experiencing the rich artistic and architectural heritage of the region, thanks to the extraordinary opening of homes and parks and a rich program of events organized by the owners: tastings, concerts, book presentations, exhibitions , conferences, competitions.

There are 21 private homes, still inhabited today, that will open their doors: the owners will act as guides and become cicerones to tell not only their history and architectural characteristics, but also anecdotes and curiosities of the places that have been handed down for generations and of the families who inhabited them.

THE PROPOSAL
There are sixteen homes to open in the province of Udine: starting from Carnia with Palazzo De Gleria (Comeglians), descending into the hills north of the city, with Casa Asquini (Fagagna), La Brunelde Casaforte d’Arcano (Fagagna), Villa del Torso Paulone (Brazzacco di Moruzzo), Villa Gallici Deciani (Cassacco), Villa Schubert (Marsure), passing through the center of Udine with Palazzo Orgnani, Palazzo Pavona Asquini and Villa Garzoni, up to the south with Casa Foffani (Clauiano), the Folador of Villa Rubini (Trivignano), Villa Iachia (Ruda), Villa Lovaria (Pavia di Udine), Villa Pace (Campolongo Tapogliano), Villa Ritter de Zahony (Monastery of Aquileia), Villa Vitas (Strassoldo di Cervignano del Friuli). Three residences open in the Gorizia area, Villa Attems (Lucinico), Villa del Torre (Romans d’Isonzo) and Villa Marchese de Fabris (San Canzian d’Isonzo), and two in the Pordenone area, Palazzo d’Attimis Maniago (Maniago) and Palazzo Schoolchildren (Polcenigo).
The program is truly rich and varied with over 40 events which include aperitifs in the villa and tastings, dinners, book presentations, art and photography exhibitions, conferences, theatrical performances, concerts, including the program of 4 events organized by the Association Musical Sergio Gaggia. For the guided tour of the homes, a minimum donation of 10 euros per person is required: the funds raised will be used to support further projects to enhance the private Adsi Fvg cultural heritage and the surrounding area. Children and teenagers up to 17 years old enter free. TODAY’S APPOINTMENTS
La Brunelde – Casaforte d’Arcano: today, at 9pm, Angelo Floramo accompanies the author Luigino Peressini in the presentation of the book “The journey of Iulio Candido, a Carnic pilgrim in Friuli in the 14th century”. Musical interventions by Giovanni Floreani. Vin d’honneur (free). During the festival you can participate in the photography competition “La Brunelde, timeless colours: interiors and landscapes”, the awards ceremony of which will be held on Sunday.
Villa del Torso Paulone: ​​at 6pm string concert by the Sergio Gaggia Musical Association – Between rivers and nature – Daniel Rowland violin, Floor Le Coultre viola, Maja Bogdanovic cello, Andrea Rucli piano. Music by Schubert and various authors (15 full euros, 12 Gaggia members, La Prora and students).
Villa Gallici Deciani: at 6.30 pm presentation of the Friulian writer Pierluigi Porazzi, author of successful detective novels set in Udine. Exhibition of ceramics and sculptures created by the Friulian artist Anna Pividori from Tricesimo.
Palazzo Orgnani: at 6pm presentation of the photographic book “Boschi senza confini” – Tiglio Edizioni. Free admission.
Palazzo Pavona Asquini: at 6pm conference by Enos Costantini “Starting from Giovanni da Udine for a brief foray into agricultural history”. Free entry upon reservation.
Folador of Villa Rubini: at 6pm theater show in Friulian “I Mosaicisj”. Free offer.
Villa Pace: from 2pm to 6pm, photographic exhibition by Claudia Bazzeo. At 6pm Carlo Vidoni’s art exhibition in the Barchessa of the Villa. Free admission.
Villa Vitas: from 10am to 6pm, tasting of 3 wines in the barrique cellar (15 euros per person).

SATURDAY AT THE PALACE
Palazzo de Gleria: at 10.30am departure of the walk “Secret Carnia: among villages and ancient parish churches to discover Giandomenico da Tolmezzo” organized by Carnia Greeters.
Casa Asquini: at 10am and 3pm, opening of the historical archive.
