From May 15th to October 31st, prevention and active fight against fire measures come into force.

The mayor, in fact, has issued an ordinance in which, during the period indicated, it is forbidden to: light fires of any kind, set off mines or use explosives, burn agricultural and forestry plant residues, use flame or electric appliances to cutting metals; o use engines (except for those used to carry out authorized forestry work and not in conflict with the PMPF and other regulations in force), stoves or incinerators that produce sparks or embers, smoke, throw matches, cigars or lit cigarettes and do any other operation which may in any case create immediate or intermediate fire danger, carry out pyrotechnic activities, light fireworks, launch rockets of any type and/or paper hot air balloons better known as flying lanterns equipped with open flames, as well as other pyrotechnic articles, transit and /or park vehicles on unpaved roads within wooded areas except for service vehicles and agro-pastoral activities in compliance with the rules and regulations in force.

The owners, tenants and tenants, the public and private bodies responsible for the management, maintenance and conservation of the forests, must carry out the restoration and cleaning of the firebreaks, in particular along the border with forest paths, roads, motorways, railways, arable land , pastures, uncultivated and bushy.

The owners, tenants and tenants in any capacity of wooded areas bordering residential, tourist or productive settlements and with cereal or other crops, must ensure, at their own expense, to constantly keep a protective strip reserved on their property, at least fifteen meters wide , free from herbaceous species, brambles and necromass.

The Police Bodies, on the basis of the provisions dictated by the individual Commands to which they belong, the Local Police as well as all the relevant territorial bodies, are responsible for ensuring strict observance of this Ordinance, as well as all the Laws and Regulations relating to forest fires and interface by prosecuting violators in accordance with the law.

Failure to comply with the obligations and prohibitions indicated will result in the application of the sanctions already provided for by current legislation, including criminal sanctions, provided for by state regulations on the matters governed by this ordinance and by art. 29 of the latest updated CDS.

“Any other violation of the provisions of this Ordinance, relating to failure to comply with the execution of preventive interventions, for which a specific sanction is not already provided for, is punished with an administrative sanction ranging from a minimum of 25 euros to a maximum of 500 euros, pursuant to art. 7 bis of Legislative Decree 267 of 2000″, we read in the ordinance.
