the richest (30 thousand euros a year) in Grottaferrata, the poorest in Ciociaria. Rome only second

THE richest in Lazio there are on average 20,500 residents in Grottaferratanot surprisingly defined on Wikipedia as «one of the most elegant and popular holiday and residential places in the Roman Castles». The poorest instead live in Ciociariato Terelle, province of Frosinone. This is what emerges for the Lazio from the national report on tax returns in 2023 based on the 2022 tax year, published by Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Rome second with almost 29 thousand euros per capita

With his 29,724 euros average income per capita Grottaferrata also surpasses Rome, which is second in the rankings with 28,900 on average. In some neighborhoods of the capital, however, you earn more than double. The ranking drawn up by the Mef puts the province of Rome at the top, in particular the municipalities of Castelli, with Formello author of a cameo exceptional: the municipality where the SS Lazio “resides”. third in the ranking with 27,484 average euros per capita, not so far from the almost 30 thousand of the first ever Grottaferrata and the almost 29 thousand of the capital. They then follow Monte Porzio CatoneSacrofan, FrascatiCiampino, Manziana, Trevignano and Santa Marinella, all municipalities in the area of Metropolitan city.

The richest people in the capital live in Parioli (70 thousand euros a year)

Obviously, however, the municipality of Rome tells, as always, a tangle of different stories. The data on the average income in the capital – as mentioned, 28,900 euros a year – represents the meeting point of differences, even very accentuated, between the various neighborhoods of the city. A range of wealth, in short, which oscillates between the average income of the “gold caps” (00197 and 00187, respectively Parioli and Trevi district) in which they are perceived between 70 thousand and 66,500 euros the year, and the minimum of 14,771 euros of the cap 00119, that relating to Ostia Antica.

In Ostia Antica the poorest Romans

Out of a total of 72 areas, four exceed 50 thousand euros of income average (for example 59 thousand a Pinciano-Trieste and historic center), 24 are in the 30 thousand-50 thousand range (like Flaminio-Piazza Mancini where an average of 45 thousand euros is declared), 38 are in the 20 thousand-30 thousand range and 5 below 20 thousand. At Tor Bella Monaca e Ninth Bridge approximately 19 thousand euros per year are declared, 20 thousand in Centocelle-Alessandrino and Quarticciolo. The richest neighborhood, Parioli, therefore has a income equal to approximately 4.5 times the income of the neighborhood PoorerOstia Antica.

Ciociaria at the bottom of the ranking

All this in the area surrounding the capital. To find another province you have to get to 16th place in the ranking national, with Frosinone. Immediately below it is Rieti. The Viterbo area appears only in 23rd place with Vitorchiano. Latina city is at 25th, followed by Viterbo city. The lowest income in Lazio is recorded in Terelle, not far from Frosinone: 10,724 euros. Moving up the rankings they are found in practice alone Ciociaria municipalitieswith the exception of Vallepietra, 233 inhabitants, province of Rome.
