Roccachecambia3 .0 opens the Meeting Point in the village

Starting at 6.30 pm, in the ‘Croce’ area of the historic centre, a river of people in procession reached the historic headquarters of the “Rocca che Cambia 3.0” list for its opening, in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, near the Mother church. Last April 13th the branch in via Arena in the marina was opened and this evening the one in the village. In addition to the opening of the headquarters, the news is now official that at the head of the list is the outgoing mayor, Avv.Giuseppe Ranù, whom all the outgoing councilors and supporting citizens unanimously recognize as Leader and have unanimously decreed the leadership for the 2024 electoral competition, which marks the beginning of the potential third term. Giuseppe Ranù is about to compete for the third consecutive mandate and his opponent will be Ferdinando Di Leo, former mayor of Rocca Imperiale. Just to keep the time short, only a part of the outgoing councilors took to the microphone, but in the next meetings it will be everyone’s turn, little by little, to take the floor to thank the citizens and to explain their ideas on the administrative program implemented and both for potential administrative continuity for the future. A democratic way of requesting the reconfirmation of trust for another five years. Behind the mayoral candidate Ranù, we also noticed some new entries as councilor candidates, but it was clearly said that the atmosphere was that of Union and teamwork. And according to this principle, some new entry of emerging young people on the list will not jeopardize the unity and teamwork already in place and which looks to a five-year period still together and still united in the common interest of contributing to building the “New City” in the general interest of the community. Together they propose in this electoral competition to continue the “Revolution” – as Ranù defines it – which has been underway for 10 years now and which the facts do not deny. The urban change of Rocca Imperiale is clear for all to see, from the seafront to the Castle. “There is not a single corner without attention from the outgoing administration”, was unanimously underlined by the various outgoing councilors and their leader. After Marino Buongiorno the microphone was passed to Rosaria Suriano and followed by Antonio Favoino, Sabrina Favale, Antonio Affuso, Silene Gallo, Francesco Marino and the determined and very young university student, 23 years old, in her first experience on the list, Martina Fanelli, and immediately Afterwards the candidate for mayor Giuseppe Ranù took the floor and, among the many passages, recalled that: “This sporting morning saw around 300 participating cyclists from 17 Regions. A great initiative that will lead us to become the city of sport with an event that will last a week with different disciplines. We have restored faith in athletes. As soon as we reached the town hall we found the villa with closed and barricaded fields. The boys played in the street. The villa today is equipped with safe fields. We have created the multipurpose sports center and work on the new sports field on the seafront will begin in the next few days. We have created km of cycle paths. The restyling of the sports center will soon take place with an intervention of €750,000.00. Added to all this are the planned interventions to make the pitches and the town near the castle safe. A revolution.”. And again: «We will tell about a former Mayor who has promoted judgments against the Municipality and without a minimum of shame would like to run to represent it. We will talk about a former Mayor who cannot currently hold even the position of simple councilor without renouncing judgments. “We love our land and are committed to changing it. We reiterate a concept to our people: on this side civility, dialogue and democracy; on the other, verbal violence, insults and arrogance”. “We do not participate in this way of doing politics.” Let’s move forward with the facts and with young people distant from their world.” Ranù concluded that: “The electoral campaign is not a fight between two factions… the electoral campaign is, and remains, the celebration of democracy”.
