Motorways, construction sites for the April 25th bridge removed but there is no shortage of queues in Liguria

Genoa. To be a day from “red dot” on highways of Liguria the situation could have been decidedly more problematic: the uncertain weather sorted the flows of holidaymakers arriving in our region and discouraged the Genoese from embarking on trips out of town. However, despite the removal of construction sites on the routes by the relevant concessionaires, there was no shortage of queues.

Traffic queues this morning on the A10 from Arenzano to Spotorno after yesterday afternoon, due to an accident involving 6 vehicles, over 10 km of queues formed. On the A6 Autofiori this morning also reported a 2 km queue between Altare and Savona and a 5 km queue between Ceva and Millesimo.

In the early afternoon on the Genoese node there is a queue between the A7/A10 Genoa-Ventimiglia junction and the A7/A12 Genoa-Livorno junction due to congested traffic. Aspi also reports a queue between Genoa Bolzaneto and the A7/A12 Genoa-Livorno junction due to heavy traffic. In the morning they had formed up to 5 km between Genova Sampierdarena and Genova Nervi.

Queues at times at the moment (afternoon) also between Varazze and Bivio A10/Inizio Complanare Savona, again due to heavy traffic.

REMOVAL OF ASPI CONSTRUCTION SITE
As regards the sections under concession to Autostrade per l’Italia, all construction sites impacting on all routes are removed from the evening of 24 April to the morning of 6 May, guaranteeing two lanes in each direction to facilitate travel during the long bridge of April 25th and May 1st. During this period, night-time closures will also be eased as much as possible. As already announced and shared with the institutional table, only on the A7 North will the construction site of the Balletto viaduct remain active, on which an important redevelopment project is underway which will allow the current one-lane limitation to be definitively removed. The construction site will be removed on the morning of Sunday 28 April, considered a red flag day for returns to the North, and reassembled on 6 May, but only from Monday to Friday, to definitively end on 26 May. This will allow the A7 to have two lanes in each direction throughout the summer. As regards the resumption of works after 6 May, the impacting construction sites on the A12 have already been removed during the Easter period. On the A26 and A10, however, the construction sites between Masone and Ovada and between Albisola and Celle Ligure will be reopened and will be dismantled on May 31, when the network managed by Aspi will enter its summer configuration, with two lanes in each direction on all routes.

SALT CONSTRUCTION SITE
On the A12 La Spezia – Sestri Levante, the typical ordinary and extraordinary maintenance activities continue with road partitioning of limited impact. In agreement with the Liguria Region, a dedicated discussion table is planned for the effective planning of the A15 section, which will involve Salt and local authorities. On each arterial road from 23 April to 5 May there will be no scheduled construction sites, with the exception of two roadway narrowings before the La Spezia barrier in both directions for the works to upgrade the A12 – A15 interconnection which, however, will not should create traffic disruptions.

AUTOFLOWERS, CONSTRUCTION REMOVAL
On the A10 section by 2pm on 24 April 2024 Autostrada dei Fiori will remove all construction sites from Savona to the state border in order to ensure maximum flow capacity of the infrastructure and facilitate travel to tourist destinations.
On the A6 Savona-Turin section, for the same considerations Autostrada dei Fiori has postponed the works on the Cento viaduct (a construction site which however falls in Piedmont), reconfigured the construction site of the Bormida viaduct of Mallare nord between the Altare and Millesimo interchanges in order to ensure on weekends two vehicle streams. Also on the A6, in anticipation of the increase in traffic for the holidays of 25 April and 1 May, the reconfiguration of the carriageway interchange between Altare and Savona will continue, ensuring two vehicular flows in the prevailing traffic direction, a measure adopted since Easter period just ended.
The removed construction sites will be repositioned on the A10 on the Savona – Albenga section starting from 12pm on 6 May and on the Albenga – state border section from midnight on 5 May. In A6 the construction sites will be repositioned from 12pm on 6 May
