Pace, war and future. These are the main themes ofaudience held by Pope Francis on April 19th in the Vatican. The event, included within the National Peace Schools Network, saw the participation of over 6,000 students from all over Italy, including those of some comprehensive institutes in Imola and the technical center of Lugo.

The pontiff’s speech
Welcomed with great enthusiasm by students and teachers, the Pope thanked those present for «being full of enthusiasm in pursuing goals of beauty and goodness, in the midst of dramatic situations. Today more than ever there is a need to live responsibly, sowing every day the seeds of peace that can germinate in the future.” The focus is on the future. «The summit of the future, convened by the United Nations, will take place in September in New York to deal with today’s global challenges and to sign a pact for the future. An important event that requires the contribution of you young people, so as not to remain only on paper. You have this great dream, that of transforming the future and this is why you are called to be protagonists, and not spectators of what is to come. This summit reminds us that the future is not built by individuals who exclusively take care of their own garden to cultivate their own interests, but by a common effort, that of networking. This dream requires a lot of commitment, but it is also realized with prayer, together with God.”
