Starting from Thursday 25 April 2024 the municipality of Venice experience the solution designed to calm the waves of tourists who flock to the city during the summer. The municipal communication campaign

Paid days

For a fee, the entire long weekend between April 25th and May 1st, until Sunday 5th.

Subsequently, the ticket will be required every Saturday and Sunday May, June and July.

Those exempt from the entrance tax

The following are exempt from paying the ticket: i residents in Venice and all the citizens of Venetocasual workers, temporary residents, children under 14 and people with disabilities.

No contribution even for the tourists staying overnight in a hotel in the city, because they already pay the municipal tourist tax.

With the exception of Venetians (who will simply need to show a document in the event of a check), it will still be necessary to register on the dedicated app to obtain the Exemption QR Code.

Considering the exemptions, of the 80 thousand registered for April 25th, only 1 in 10 paid the contribution of 5 euros.

All the others belong to the exempt categories, including 30,300 guests of accommodation facilities and 9,450 resident citizens in the Veneto region.
