The rejection of the Jewish community

The Antonio Gramsci association also asked the Italian Jewish community to have one of its representatives participate in this event. This is the response of the Jewish community: “We thank you for your kind invitation, but considering the situation in its complexity and gravity, which affects us closely due to the ties that the community has with Israel, we believe there is no serenity and clarity enough to deal with these encounters. The war in the Middle East
That it is a war that no one can win can be understood from the fact that before 1948 there have been others in 1956, 1967 and 1973. The most sensational manifestations of these were the Alfred Dreyfus affair in France, the progrom in Tsarist Russia and the extermination camps in Nazi Germany. Between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the idea of creating a state in Palestine where they could shelter themselves from persecution began to grow among the Jews living scattered throughout European countries.
But there were already Arabs in Palestine. To encourage and facilitate the settlement of Jews in Palestine
it was two European powers of the time, France and the United Kingdom, who put the declining Ottoman Empire in difficulty. From there starts that long series of conflicts between Arabs and Israelis, with the Palestinian question at the center, which seems to have no end.
