the meeting of the Carabinieri with the students of Molochio

The meetings with the Arma dei Carabinieri.

Strongly desired by the school director of the Institute, Francesca Maria Morabito, these events have now become an integral part of the school organization and arise from a solid collaboration with the men of the Benemerita.

These were the words of the Manager Morabito:

“School must increasingly be a place for promoting legality, respect, civil life and, to do this, it is not enough to study civic education as our students now do, but they must live it, they must see how it works concretely. For this I warmly thank the Commander of the Taurianova Carabinieri Company, Captain Gaetano Borgese, and the Commander of the Molochio Station, Chief Marshal Salvatore Carrabotta: our educational institution is always ready to promptly welcome any type of initiative aimed at promotion of legality and to bring students closer to those who, like the Carabinieri, are among the reference figures of our society”.

Also welcoming the Carabinieri was the head of the complex, Concetta Garreffa, who immediately passed the word to Marshal Carrabotta. He introduced the special unit of “Falcons of Aspromonte”, belonging to the “Falco 11” team of the Hunters of Calabria: Chief Marshal Gabriele Grasso explained to the students, all very interested, what the work of the “Hunters Squadron” consists of and the reason why he is very proud of it; talking about particular technological tools, such as the night visor or the thermal monocleof sometimes extreme physical activities such as climbing or spending entire nights in the open without warning, Marshal Grasso intrigued the kids so much that they asked him several questions.

This was then followed by the intervention ofDog Unit; the Specially Qualified Officer Domenico Blunda told the students about the life of the Army’s dogs and their handlers, specifying the enormous qualities of these animals; also on this occasion the boys were very attentive and curiousespecially during the demonstration of Batik, the dog trained to search for drugs.

The school courtyard became a research scene for the Belgian shepherd who, after finding the object that simulated drugs, lent himself to the caresses of the many present, thus bringing the event to an end.
