The disciples, after following their master through the streets of Galilee, experience his new way of being present among them. After the Lord ascended into heaven, his people are called to go throughout the world to preach the Gospel, the good news that death no longer has the last word in man’s life, because he is the Risen One.
The master’s presence will no longer be physical among his people, but he will accompany them in their mission through the Word he left in their hearts and through the signs they can perform in his name.
Like the disciples, we too can experience a strong experience of God, feeling him close to us, as if we could touch him and listen to his voice. Other times, however, we may feel God distant, struggling to recognize Him present in our lives. But the Lord assures us of his presence with small daily signs that he gives us along our journey.
Today we ask to be able to recognize the small traces that God wishes to leave on the path of our lives, as he did with his disciples, so that we too can experience the Risen One.
