He recently turned 80, Maurizio Vandelli, the Prince of the historic group Team 84, who conquered the whole of Italy from Modena. But despite the success, the endless stages and music festivals, Maurizio has always remained well anchored to his daily life, as a true eternal son of the province. He has a wife, Stella (surname unknown), who worked with him and has always been at his side. She has too a son, then, had in 1998. But very little else is known about his private life. On the other hand, he is a very jealous guardian of it. Let’s see then all the details that we managed to find out about him.
Maurizio Vandelli, career and love with Stella
Born in Modena on 30 March 1944, Maurizio Vandelli he became well known as the band’s frontman Team 84, very popular between the Sixties and Seventies. After training in provincial premises, e.g on the Romagna and Marche coasts, Maurizio managed to found Equipe 84 together with Alfio Cantarella, Victor Sogliani and Franco Ceccarelli. But the real “coup”, as he himself recognized, was made by Vandelli when he won over his current wife.
In fact, she worked with him in the beginning. “Before I fell in love, she was my manager”, the musician had in fact revealed, on one of the very rare occasions in which he gave details about his private life. Very little else is known about her, other than her name, Star, and the unconditional love that has always bound her to Maurizio. For him she was a star a sort of Yoko Ono in the tricolor version, a total and omnipresent muse, even if it did not lead to a break with the band as in the case of the Beatles. And not surprisingly, a very funny anecdote it really concerns J’s better halfOh Lennon and Vandelli himself.
In fact, on “Today is another day”, the frontman told of the sensational gaffe he made when he found himself in front of Lennon and Yoko. “I found myself in a shed belonging to John Lennon’s friends”Maurizio explained embarrassedly, “there was a jam session, everyone started playing, I started playing and at a certain point I heard someone it was making strange guttural sounds, it was a woman, and turning to the left I said, who is this troublemaker? John Lennon replied, she’s my wife. I wanted to commit suicide, one of the best gaffes of my life. I was pale at the time. There I was not a prince, but another word.”
The wedding and the son Andrea
After long years of love and coexistence, Maurizio Vandelli and Stella have decided to get married. Finally, in 1998 he was born his son Andrea. He also lives in Brianza, like his parents, and he too is very reserved. Like dad. But then again, that’s the beauty of certain artists. The mystery increases the legend. And the legend, then, often ends up making us immortal.
