It occurred shortly after 2pm today – Wednesday 24 April 2024 – a accident at work at a gas station located in Poggio Pudano, along State Road 106 which runs through the southern area of Crotone, in Calabria.
According to the first information gathered so far, the accident occurred during maintenance operations of an LPG distribution systemon which two experts were working.

As soon as we arrived on site and examined the conditions of the two maintenance workers, the rescuers requested the intervention of the air ambulance for one of the two workerswho was then transported to the Pugliese-Ciaccio hospital in Catanzaro.
The second worker was injured in the blaze that followed the explosion transported to the San Giovanni di Dio Hospital in Crotone.

According to what was reported by some local newspapers, the two workers were burned in the accident. The first of the two, hospitalized in Catanzaro, would be considered more serious, while the second wounded man would always have remained conscious during transport to the Crotone hospital.
